Men’s tennis continue strong form
The tennis Blues defeated Nottingham Trent 12-0 away to stay undefeated this season.
At no. 1 doubles, captain Tim Prossor (Girton) and Neil Cordon (Churchill) continued their recent good form to win 6-2, 6-0. At no. 2 doubles, Michael Pedersen (Queens’) and Alex Cole (Downing) survived a scare in the second set to come through 6-3, 3-6, 10-6.
At no. 1 singles, Prossor annihilated his opponent with his powerful serve and forehand combination. He did not let his opponent into the match and won easily 6-3, 6-3. Cordon sealed the match overall with a convincing 6-3, 6-2 win, using his solid groundstrokes to great effect.
At no. 3 singles, Pedersen never look troubled in a routine 6-2, 6-3 win. Cole wrapped up a resounding Cambridge performance with a 6-1, 6-4 win. The Blues next play Nottingham away.
